NYU’s Paulson Center atrium surfaces as a POPS.
Alex Tey writes about this possibility in an April 17, 2024 article in the Washington Square News, citing Harvard professor and APOPS founder Jerold Kayden. https://nyunews.com/news/2024/04/17/public-spaces-restrictions-student-protests/
Who knew a POPS could cause this much drama? I mean, really, are we *that* desperate for public space that we need a whole bonus system? Its almost as if the city is saying, Oops, guess we need those little blue plaques after all! But lets be real, if you need a Harvard professor to tell you how vital these spaces are, maybe weve hit rock bottom. And the San Francisco problems? Well, that just screams drama in the best way possible. Honestly, Im more concerned about finding a POPS that doesnt require a legal team to navigate. Its like trying to find a needle in a haystack, except the needle is a public space and the haystack is NYC.
