Our website is a digital space for collaboration about physical space. We invite you to participate  in the creation of knowledge designed to secure greater public use of New York City’s 525 or so POPS, those zoning-created plazas, arcades, and other outdoor and indoor privately owned public spaces. Here is an archive of comments from visitors like you.

APOPS on 180 Maiden Lane:
Hi Jim, The data listed in the column is from March 2023. It is recent and probably accurate. The information in the article is from 2000. It was written a long time ago and may be out of date. We're working to revise the articles, but with hundreds of POPS, it requires time.
Jim on 180 Maiden Lane:
Are the hours listed to the side for the enclosed public space ("Monday through Saturday, 8:30 am to 10:00 pm. Sundays from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm") correct, or is the space closed at 5:30 pm as indicated in the article? Thank you!
Christine Berthet on 585 Eighth Avenue:
the pops is used as a staging area for dirty hotel linen (very large obstruction) and does not have an active security guard in an area that is very problematic. ARE pops responsible for security in the pops ?
Jerold Kayden on 130 Livingston Street:

All of NYC seems so subdued now. It’s rather haunting. Hope to be a part time resident later in the year.
