Our website is a digital space for collaboration about physical space. We invite you to participate  in the creation of knowledge designed to secure greater public use of New York City’s 525 or so POPS, those zoning-created plazas, arcades, and other outdoor and indoor privately owned public spaces. Here is an archive of comments from visitors like you.

APOPS on 1633 Broadway | Paramount:
Thank you for your comment. We think the address we have provided is correct- the POPS is on the north side of East 71st Street but it is connected to the Belaire, whose address is 524 East 72nd Street. If you have additional information, please feel free to share.
John on 875 Third Avenue:
This place used to be nice, until the ENDLESS escalator replacement. It's been going on for over 7 months now. At this point they should just abandon the idea of escalators and just put in stairs. You can barely have lunch there most days because of the banging and drilling. Who ever is in charge of this project is milking it for all it's worth. Pathetic.
Matt Postal on 1633 Broadway | Paramount:
Typo? 1345 Sixth Ave did not have a sunken plaza. The text should be changed and link to JC Penny at 1301 Sixth Ave.
David Salter on 400 East 70th Street:
The entrance from 70th Street is currently blocked by scaffolding. The POPS remains accessible from First Ave.
David Salter on 524 East 72nd Street:
The address listed for this POPS is incorrect. It is not on the south side of 72nd St (though there is a different POPS on this block on the north side of 72nd. The correct address for this one is 525 E 71st St.
APOPS on 201 East 42nd Street:
Thank you for the information. We will look into this and post a comment when we know more about it.
Peter Brightbill on 201 East 42nd Street:
Entirety of this POPS is currently fenced off and locked and being used to store materials for the building renovation happening now.
APOPS on 322 West 57th Street:

Jenny Undercofler on 322 West 57th Street:
Hello - I am the Executive Director of Make Music New York, the city's largest music festival, free and open to all on each summer solstice (June 21st). There is a youth ensemble (Chamber Music Center of NYC) that would like to perform in Balsley Park on June 21st. Can you help connect me with the person who could give us permission to book the space on their behalf? Thank you. Best- jenny undercofler
I. Feldman on 200 West 79th Street:
How does a building get to take over extra public Plaza space for a glass-enclosed cafe without providing even the most minimal public benches and trees or planters on the big, empty concrete sidewalk that surrounds the building on 3 sides? It seems like more ought to be offered for the public, especially if they want to keep using the public space for their commercial cafe.
