Our website is a digital space for collaboration about physical space. We invite you to participate  in the creation of knowledge designed to secure greater public use of New York City’s 525 or so POPS, those zoning-created plazas, arcades, and other outdoor and indoor privately owned public spaces. Here is an archive of comments from visitors like you.

Lauren on 445 Fifth Avenue:
The plaque detailing the requirements of this POPS was recently removed. I filed a complaint with 311 about it not having chairs in August.
Ben on 1 Central Park West:
This space, for some reason, has been blockaded for the past 4 years. Does it still qualify as a POPS, if it's not accessible to the public?
APOPS on 222 East 39th Street:
Hi Izuru, I don't know the answer to your question. This page from NYC's DOT website may help guide you. I hope this helps. https://www1.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/pedestrians/openrestaurants.shtml
Izuru Yoshimoto on 222 East 39th Street:
Hi, I have a restaurant next to the plaza and my lease agreement allows us to use as outdoor cafe. Can you address how to apply to get its permit?
Keegan on 325 Fifth Avenue:
seems like the building permits are passed but the space remains closed
Keegan on 325 Fifth Avenue:
Is a junk yard. No progress for months. After years of construction that impacted neighbors
Keegan on 325 Fifth Avenue:
Terrible! Been closer for years with a never ending construction project. Now being treated as a junk yard

Hi Rob, Thanks for your comment. If you feel this location is violating rules you can file a complaint through New York City's 311 portal. https://portal.311.nyc.gov/article/?kanumber=KA-01061
Rob M on 300 East 74th Street:
Recently posted plaques which read “No Trespassing – Violators will be Prosecuted” have been affixed to the brickwork around the 73rd street entrance/gate. They are visible in the latest Google Streetview imagery as well.
APOPS on 401 East 34th Street | Rivergate:
Hi Matthew, Thanks for your comment. The data for each POPS site is updated once or twice a year. But, the descriptions and photos are sometimes dated. This is why we have the "Because this profile was published in 2000, it may not accurately reflect current conditions." disclaimer on pages.
