Our website is a digital space for collaboration about physical space. We invite you to participate  in the creation of knowledge designed to secure greater public use of New York City’s 525 or so POPS, those zoning-created plazas, arcades, and other outdoor and indoor privately owned public spaces. Here is an archive of comments from visitors like you.

Matthew on 401 East 34th Street | Rivergate:
This entire POPS has been renovated. Please update this information.
J on 425 East 58th Street:
On a site visit on May 4, 2020 during open hours as stated on posted signs, both entrances were locked, and upon inquiring at the front desk, I was refused entrance to the park.
J on 410 East 58th Street:
On a site visit on May 4, 2020, I found the narrow hallway ("finger') on 57th St to be accessible, however upon entering I was stopped short before walking (what I suspect is) the full legal distance of the plaza.
J on 300 East 59th Street:
On a site visit May 4, 2020, most of this plaza was not accessible to the public due to the erection of construction-related scaffolding.
Graham on 353 East 17th Street | Gilman Hall:
I've passed by this space regularly for four years and never realized it was usable by the public. It reads more as a restricted space for hospital employees.
jp on 90 Washington Street:
Nearly this entire space has been co-opted by Clinton Hall as a sidewalk cafe which has been occupying it for a number of years (so this listing is NOT up up date, as you claim). No doubt the owner of the building is collecting extra rent for this use. In the attached photos there is a sidewalk shed covering the space because of exterior renovations on the building. It has been removed. The restaurant attracts a frat boy type crowd and is very loud on warm nights.
Terry Towery on 767 Fifth Avenue:
I am using Google street view to create immersive 360degree views of POPS. You use googlCheck Out 599 Lexington Ave Shared via the #StreetView app https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7639138,-73.9730459,3a,75y,80h,70t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sAF1QipNJY2SL3AQKIrGvKsTA9IWWDuCiCN2_w4oSnWaM!2e10

Terry Towery on 36 Central Park South:
There’s no signage visible anywhere.
Fred Gates on 185 East 85th Street:
Seems like shake shack has completely taken this over and got rid of any signage that indicates it is public space! There also seems to be a gate on the 86th street side. Did someone make it no n-24 hours??
