Our website is a digital space for collaboration about physical space. We invite you to participate  in the creation of knowledge designed to secure greater public use of New York City’s 525 or so POPS, those zoning-created plazas, arcades, and other outdoor and indoor privately owned public spaces. Here is an archive of comments from visitors like you.

Max on 180 Maiden Lane:
Wow incredible. This POPS has sunlight, seating, WiFi, bathrooms, drinking fountains, and even a great cafe that is somehow liberated from Manhattan prices. The seats at tables aren’t the most comfortable, but they are good enough and there are other options too. The ambiance is indeed delightful and calming. The outlets are available but limited.
Greg on 60 Wall Street:
Note that it's going to be renovated soon: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/31/nyregion/60-wall-street-lobby.html
Kathleen Walton on 300 East 74th Street:
It has not been open in days and many women with strollers and elderly people are wanting to visit.

Thanks for your comment. Please contact the Department of City Planning. You can do so through 311. Our site lists POPS but we don't have control over what happens there. Good luck. https://portal.311.nyc.gov/article/?kanumber=KA-01061
Radica Kurbasic on 153 East 53rd Street | Citigroup Center:
hi, I work across the street and was sitting outside for my short lunch break daily weather permitting but noticed that a lot of people smoke or vape and when i asked the guard to react /ask people to stop doing it, i was told that this is a 'private owned' and they/the smoking people/vaping is allowed! i just ok then i can just leave since ihave a health condition. Can someone please look into this? i honestly dont think this is ok and that is allowed after all? thank you.
Nellie DeBruyn on 45 East 89th Street:
This is such a horrible design, obviously configured to prevent public usage. It creates a monolithic and uninviting face for the public. It's on my daily walking route, and I cringe every time I walk by it.

Updated photos of the plaza at 1065 Park. As a resident, I am happy to see it being used by the neighborhood. Everyone has been respectful of the space and it's nice to create a sense of community.

As seen in this NYTimes article https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/07/21/nyregion/nyc-developers-private-owned-public-spaces.html

Staff is explicitly telling people to move from the public space as if it is not public access. Hyatt should be notified and fix the problem.
